The 4x4 route was officially opened towards the end of 2019 (this part  of the reserve was not accessible to visitors before then). This challenging but enjoyable route opens up the most beautiful parts of the northern part of Witsand and includes a stop at Klein Witsand. There are directional signs and the difficulty grading varies between 1 and 4 with some of the dunes being quite tricky, which adds to the fun.

• The route is 15 kms long and takes a minimum of 2.5 hours to complete depending on how many stops are made

• We allow 4 hours to complete the route

• A minimum of two vehicles and a maximum of six vehicles are allowed at any one time

• R350.00 per vehicle per trip
